Dear Mr. Tom Jones:

I contacted Chris Lavender early last week about doing an article on our up coming checker tournament in Burlington but he gave me Executive Director, Madison Taylor name since he is now with the Spartanburg Herald-Journal. I call this morning and got your name and email.

Please help us get the word out about bringing our 126th Annual North Carolina Open Checker Tournament. It will be held at the Econo Lodge Hotel, 2133 Hanford Rd, Burlington, NC 27215 on Friday and Saturday, May 13th & 14th 2016.  Our current North Carolina State Champion, Dr. John R. Webster from Stoneville, NC will be there to defend his title.  We also have the World Champion, Alex Moiseyev attending because he wants to tune up his game against top NC players so he is better prepared to defend his World Title Match which is coming up later this year in Rome.  His presents also adds dignity to our tournament by bring in a world class player. We would appreciate any article or news story write up you provide our tournament.
